As Emergence Health Network Board Chair for 2024, I am proud to say EHN continues to serve in a vital leadership role, providing community-wide expert guidance and expertise on addressing El Paso’s unique needs in the arena of behavioral health. This encompasses not only providing world-class clinical services to our various at-risk populations, but also addressing wellness in prevention, as well as forecasting the needs of the region in years to come. I would also like to acknowledge our many stakeholders and collaborators. We are fortunate to have our local educational institutions, healthcare providers and municipalities who have worked collaboratively to combine resources and find innovative solutions. 

This year EHN has been very active in securing long-term for vital programming from state and national resources. Through hard work and advocacy by our clinical leaders and our support teams, EHN was awarded several large grants multi-year grants that will allow us to maintain and grow programming in vital areas such as children’s services and clinical services for justice-involved individuals.

As the Texas Legislative Session kicks off, our advocacy efforts remain vital. EHN works hard to ensure the voices of our clients, and their families are heard in both Austin and Washington DC. We must ensure that policy and funding decisions are in the best interest of those we serve.
My fellow board of trustees and myself have the distinction of providing strategic direction to over EHN 700 staff members who provide round-the-clock access to behavioral health services to those in our community who need it most.
